The Assoluti d'Italia Enduro made its stop in Cavaglią over this weekend, just a few kilometers away from the Lake of Viverone in the province of Biella, valid as the first and second stage of the 2024 season of the Italian Enduro Championship.

The race track was designed by Motoclub Azeglio in collaboration with Track Inspector Mario Rinaldi and brought great satisfaction, despite significantly unfavorable weather conditions. The stage saw the riders take to the track on Saturday, March 9th to run three special tests, to be repeated for five laps, except for the last Cross Test, for a total of 14 PS. Unfortunately, the heavy rains later led to the cancellation of Sunday's race.

The first race of the 2024 season kicked off early on Friday afternoon with The Prologue run on the Cross Test special test track. The race included in order: an Enduro Test on a very technical and fast track, characterized by plenty of stones and roots; then followed by an Extreme special test of 1.5 km length, located for almost its entire length inside a creek full of stones; at the end of the lap a Cross Test, placed inside a grass field that became at the end of the race day impracticable so much that the race direction had to cancel its running at the last lap.

A good start to the season for Nathan Watson, the Beta Factory Enduro Team's newly rider, who took the 3rd position Overall and 2nd position in the Foreigner Class. Nathan Watson, on his Beta RR Racing 350 4T, recorded excellent times in the first three Enduro Tests and on the fourth lap in both the Extreme and Cross Tests, also showing a very good feeling with the new bike.

The weekend in Cavaglią was not a very good one for Brad Freeman; during the Super Test on Friday evening, the British rider and E3 Class world champion injured his left hand by hitting it against a race course marker post. Despite the pain, Brad Freeman finished second overall in the Super Test and then went to the hospital to figure out the extent of the injury.

I would say a good start to the season, right from the first special test I felt good with the new bike and the riding feeling is really good. I was able to express myself at my best in all the special stages, but I must be able to be more constant from the first to the last special stage.

Unfortunately, during the Super Test I hit my left hand against a stake that marked the track and injured myself. Despite the severe pain I took the 2nd position Overall in the Super Test, but in the evening we had to go to the hospital for checks.

Archived the first and second stages of the Assoluti d'Italia Enduro 2024, the team and riders will be running the start of the EnduroGP World Championship in Portugal over the first two weekends of April.
