SPECTACULAR ENDUROGP VICTORY FOR ANDREA VERONA AT HOME IN ITALY GASGAS FACTORY RACING STAR WINS IN ENDUROGP AND EXTENDS ENDURO2 LEAD WITH DOUBLE VICTORY AT ITALIAN GRAND PRIX That’s how it’s done! GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona came back to EnduroGP action with a bang at round four, claiming the overall win on home soil on day two and topping the Enduro2 podium both days. After a six-week break in the FIM EnduroGP World Championship calendar, the Italian enduro ace put on a show in front of legions of loyal fans in Bettola to further extend his Enduro2 championship lead and maintain second place in the overall EnduroGP standings. Verona bags EnduroGP victory on day two in Italy Andrea got on the gas right from the start on Saturday morning, winning the first test outright. A mixed bag of test results followed, with a few mistakes costing the Italian the overall win. Spurred on by the thousands-strong crowd of Tifosi and gaining momentum as the day went on, Verona steered his EC 350F to victory in the Enduro2 class with a third-place result in EnduroGP. Fired-up after a strong day one, Andrea returned to battle on Sunday ready to show his competition who’s boss on home soil. Despite torrential rain causing significant changes to the special tests, the 25-year-old remained unfazed and tackled the difficult conditions with unbelievable speed and skill. Placing top two on nearly every test, Verona’s day-long consistency paid off as he claimed his second overall EnduroGP victory of the season, much to the delight of the hordes of Italian fans. Topping the Enduro2 class for the sixth consecutive time in 2024, Verona now sits an impressive 39 points clear of his closest rival. He also maintains second overall in the EnduroGP class with three rounds remaining. The GASGAS Factory Racing rider has his eyes now set on round five’s GP of Slovakia in Gelnica on July 12-14. Andrea Verona: “To win the overall on day two at my home GP is an unbelievable feeling! I put up a fight all day for the win and managed to make a decent gap. I nearly lost it when I crashed near the end of the day, but I went full gas on the final test and managed to get back on top! Saturday was an up and down day with some good results, but I just made too many mistakes. Overall though, I’m super happy to have won at home and the support of the fans has been incredible, it made all the difference.”.
