Round 3 of the ACU Southern Centre Winter Series

Round 3 of the ACU Southern Centre Winter Series was hosted on the postponed date of the 15th of December, thankfully the weather was fantastic with track conditions being spot on.

The championship class had a shake up with local legends Ricky Wiggins and Brad King unable to attend. Dan Guy got the holeshot but was forced to retire early due to illness. Daryl Bolter waited patiently while Ollie Samways and then Josh Lawer led the race for a few laps, until his experience shone through, and he took the lead. He pushed on to win the event, ending up a lap up on everyone by the end of three hours. Caius Hill kept it smooth and consistent to finish in second and Alfie Heard recovered from a steady start to finish in third. In fourth Place was Josh Player who started in experts riding better than he thought following a break from racing!

In the expert class the winner was young Ollie Heard , making his 125-yam sing, followed by the consistent Daryl Biles in second and Jack Davis a little way back in third winning a close battle with Jordan Kiff throughout the race.

In the expert vets class, there was a tight battle between James Drinkwater and Adrian Heard, though Drinkwater snuck the extra lap just before the chequered flag to secure the class win. Adrian finished the day in second. A little way back in third was Will Bridger who kept Gary McCoy at bay to finish, leaving McCoy in fourth.

Ed Heard kept it on the pipe to take the top spot in the clubman A class, continuing the family tradition of podium finishes. In second place was Elliot Picard who fought hard to keep third place Stuart Scott behind him.

In the Clubman Vets Class Alex Lamble took the lead early on and kept strong for a class win. Second place was Huw Williams, followed closely, despite a nasty spill (or two) by Nick Lee.

Adam McCarthy took the win in the clubman B class, finishing an impressive 26th overall. In second place fighting back from a steady start was Luke Haggarty. Seb Picard finished the day in third place.

In the sportsman Vets class, Tim Mathers stormed to victory finishing 2 laps ahead of everyone else. In second place was Sean Massey with Philip Joyce finishing the day in third.

Henry Walsh took the top spot in the sportsman class, setting the fastest lap of the class as well. In second place was Ty Maytom-Jones followed by William Leicester in third.

The youth class was won by George Ward, who impressively finished 19th overall despite the youth starting at the back of the field. In second place was the consistent Louie Maytom-Yalland with Jessie Lee-Jessop right on his heels in a close third place.
