Ben Saville Memorial Sprint Enduro
The annual Ben Saville Memorial sprint Enduro at Rogershill
Raceway in Dorset.
The classes were stacked with some Top British Championship
Level riders turning up to keep the locals on their toes. In the
championship class the first test was won by Charlie Chater, but
soon the others warmed up and by Test 3 Aaron Gordon was in the
lead. Aaron kept it smooth and fought off a charging Alex Snow to
win the event overall. Snowy set the fastest lap of the event on
the last test closing the gap to first to just 2 seconds. In Third
place was the super consistent Alfie Webb.
In the expert class there was a close battle between Ben Harvey
Grounds and Joel Tett with the pair even having identical test
times on lap 6! In the end Ben's quick start to the day secured
him first with Joel close behind in second. Well done also to Joel
for being the champion of the charity chase mini extreme race. In
Third place was Martin Jessop, who won the last test of the day.
Ben Milward made his annual enduro appearance putting that raw
mx speed to good use to win 6 out of 7 tests in the expert vets
class. Local Legend Mark Cornick kept Ben on his toes though
finishing up in close second despite some mishaps! In third place
was Stan Watt.
For this event we introduced a lady's class, offering a
discounted entry, having seen how this increased turnout at the
recent British Enduro Championship. We were so excited to have 5
women competing at the event. With 3 separate test winners,
despite being a small class at this point, the competition was
intense. Rheanna Morgan-Rogers took the top spot and set the
fastest lap of the class. Close behind in Second was Emily Hall,
with Libby Tett keeping it consistent to finish in Third.

The clubman A class was dominated by George Ward fresh out the
youth class, finishing over 2minutes ahead of Second place. The
action continued with the closest battle of the day taking place
between Zac King and Matt Holland, after 7 tests just one tenth of
a second separated the pair. Zac finished the day in Second and
Holland a hair's breadth behind in third.
Tristan Daniels took the top spot in the clubman B class, with
Callum Smith keep him on his toes throughout the day narrowly
winning a few tests but having to settle for second place in the
end. In third was the consistent Jack Noble.
The clubman vets class was dominated by Morgan Picard who won 6
out of 7 tests. Nic Lee recovered from a steady start to finish
the day in second place. Sebastien Picard won the last test of the
day but had to settle for the third spot on the podium.
In the sportsman class there was another close battle, with the
top three each winning at least one test each. In the end it was
Elliot Warren on the top step, with Nathan Baxter in Second and
Aaron Webb in third.
The sportsman vets class was won by Sean Massey who gained
enough of an early lead to keep second place Stephen Rolls at bay.
Third place was local hero Tony Walker on his trusty KDX 200!
In the youth class Zac Perren took the top spot in the group,
finishing impressively in 39th overall. In second place was Zayed
Mohammad who kept it super smooth to finish ahead of the close
competition of third place Oliver Prouse. Thankfully the early
class leader Bodie Johns is going to be ok following a nasty crash
leading to a broken collar bone, thank you very much to Niel
Hawker and James Boyce for stopping to help.
We are so grateful for everyone's support of the event, with
this year's race being on Ben's birthday it was an extra special
day and amazingly £1890 was raised for the Dorset and Somerset
Air Ambulance. This year the Saville Family awarded Ben's trophy
to the very deserving Grace Gillen. Grace was competing for the
first time ever and had a fair few big crashes which are to be
expected but she didn't quit and showed true determination.
This event was kindly sponsored by some incredible local
businesses. Thank you to Crescent Motorcycles for sponsoring the
awards and some mega raffle prizes! Thank you also to the friends
of the Saville Family, the King Family and Dirtworx for additional
raffle prizes. Monsters Of Dirt also kindly sponsored the rider
numbers.
On the day shout outs to start marshals Chester and Pete for
keeping things rolling. As well as travelling marshals, Cookie,
Gypo, Boyce and Ollie. Also big thank you the Brad and Abbie for
help track marking.
Thank you for supporting this event and we look forward to
seeing you all soon at the start of the Winter Series in September
2025, dates confirmed soon!
