Ben Smith smokes the Tarenig round of the All Terrain Rally Challenge. Sunday morning broke with heavy skies and drizzle for signing on, scrutineering and transponder fitting, with the RallyMoto team dealing with the 180 competitors quickly and efficiently. The sun started to show at the riders briefing and by the time rider No: 1, Ben Smith left the line at 10am the cloud had cleared and the sun shone and the line of riders behind him were eager to try the new challenging course set out by Mark Molineux. The course meandered around the beautiful Welsh countryside and Tarenig Forest with a great mix of trackes, fireroads, stream crossings and technical challenges. It was a beautiful site to see the bikes coming down the mountain sides in such a glorious setting. The special test was taxing and quite long at 7 miles but Ben Smith (Rally Class) smashed the opposition with a display of fearless and stunning riding edging out Craig Bounds (Big Bike Single Class) into second place. The other class leaders were not far behind and their commitment was a sight to be seen through the forest tracks and stretches of fire road. The RallyMoto team of marshals headed by the "Green family" with an enthusiastic band of helpers did an absolutely stunning job and they were busy all day. Extreme medics who thought it was fantastic sat out in the sunshine and watched the racing all day with not one incident which left us all very happy. Freestyle Wales had pitched their gazebo and had a very busy day all showing keen interest in the new Husqvarna range. The marshals obviously did their job keeping the course in perfect marked conditions - A big "thank you" to all who helped out. Full results will be confirmed later but a big thank you to all those who attended and supported this stunning RallyMoto event.
