Report James Redman

Sunday 16th March 2014 saw the 1st round of the Banovallum MCC Enduro Championship at Ashby Puerorum. A bumper entry had assembled at the event run at the picturesque Lincolnshire Wolds track near Horncastle.

The glorious sunny spring weather treated the competitors now within the newly formed six category classes to near perfect condition's as the course meandered it's way through open fields, a wooded section and parts reminiscent of a motorcross track.

Winner of the Experts class M. Godfrey (KTM) justified his number upon his machine with a commanding performance completeing 24 laps over the 2 sessions in a time of 3hrs 4mins 66 secs, a lap clear of J. Douglas (Honda) with B. Whitmore-Wilson (Honda) suffering with problems with a puncture in the afternoon to finish third in class. Clubman class went to the ever competitive T. Greig (KTM) with J. Arnold (KTM) second with D. Cox (GasGas) in the final podium position. Newly formed and popular Sportsman category honours were taken by D. Broughton (Kawasaki) ahead of K. Porter (KTM) second and A. Atkin (KTM) rounding out the top 3. C. Woodward (Honda) and K. Bartle took class wins in the Over 45's, Trail and Classic sections respectively. H. Lincs Enduro and East Midland Centre Enduro Championships
17th March 2013
Report James Redman

Sunday saw the running of Round 1 of the Lincs Enduro and East Midland Centre Enduro Championships at Ashby Puerorum. A large entry had gathered for the popular Banovallum MCC event at the excellent track tucked away in the picturesque Linconshire wolds. The Banovallum Motorcycle Club so called after the Roman name for Horncastle in Lincolnshire was first established in the late 1940's and is gaining a reputation as one of the East Midlands premier Trials and Enduro motorcycle clubs.

The Inclement weather threw all it could at the riders competing within the 6 category classes and the going got extremeley testing as rain and hail battered the course.

Winner of the Moto X section T. Healy (Eurotek KTM) dominated from the off and seemed untouchable mastering the conditions completing some 17 laps in a time of 2hr 34mins 50sec a lap ahead of second placed A. Coupland (KTM) and third B. Whitmore-Wilson (Suzuki). Enduro class was headed by M. Godfrey (KTM) 16 laps 2hr 42mins 25sec with B. Hamilton (KTM) and L. Corbutt (KTM) second and third respectively. The competitive 4 Stroke, Trail and over 45's categories were won by D. Carr (4 Stroke), K. Bartle (Trail) and T. Greig (over 45's). M Broxholme took the honours in the Vintage section on his BSA echoing the sounds of yesteryear.
