Charlie Frost wins a testing CTR EVENTS Winter Series Championship Round 5

Charlie Frost popped over the bridge to take a well-deserved win at CTR WSC RD5 in some challenging winter conditions but he didn’t have it all his own way, Team CTR built yet another great new 5 mile H&Hs Enduro track with a complete mix of off road going, after grabbing the holeshot Charlie Frost to took the lead only to get passed half way around the lap by Brad Williams Frost lost the front wheel on a tree root snapping his front mudguard and smashing his front light, The young flying Brad Williams led the 1st lap just 2 seconds infront of the charging Charlie Frost followed by Sonny Parker and James Paczynski , Ryan Leary led the holeshot and lap in the lead of the Vet Experts, Jack Heath led the Clubman around with a good lead over his competitors, Ryan Cox led the Novice class around after just grabbing the holeshot from Ryan Bevan and with Adam Keil just a few seconds behind Cox needed to be on his toes as Keil was up for the battle, The 1st Vet Clubman around the lap was Ady Stagg with Richard Lewis splitting the Staggs up as Andy Stagg was 3rd around.

At the midway point Charlie Frost had a 2 & half minute lead over Brad Williams as they were starting their fuel stops Richard Perkins had moved up into 3rd just ahead of James Paczynski, Ryan Leary had a commanding lead over Richard Holland with Andrew Edwards now in 3rd, Jack Heath was still in the lead of the Clubman battle with Tyrone Jones in a safe 2nd ahead of Lewys Ralph and Lee Howells as Ralph and Howells were pushing each other swopping and changing places, The Vet Clubman affair was mostly a battle of the Staggs with Andy now leading from Ady circulating in 3rd was Richard Lewis with Len Giles and Jeff Morris charging hard just behind, In the Novice battle young Ryan Cox was in a comfortable lead but he needed to stay cool with Adam Keil, Ryan Mitchell, Ceri Nicolas and Jordan Crutterden all on the same lap and pushing hard behind.

At just over midway Charlie Frost’s adventure was still challenging him as he had to pull into the pits and change his front wheel and after borrowing a wheel from team Ryan Cox he re-joined the race still in the lead as if he was riding his luck Brad Williams had a little problem getting stuck behind another rider slowing his lap as we all expected him to come around infront of Frost, Frost’s 4 & Half minute lead was only cut to 2 minutes so they were off again into the closing minutes of the race.

At the finish it was Charlie Frost on his new CTR-Mounter KTM 250 with the win on 12 laps with Brad Williams just a few minutes behind to take a well-deserved and impressive 2nd place also on 12 laps, 3rd was Mr consistent Richard Perkins, Ryan Leary won the Vet Experts with 11 laps 2nd was Richard Holland 10 laps with Andrew Edwards 3rd 10 laps, Jack Heath won the Clubman class 10 laps ahead of Tyrone Jones 2nd 9 laps 3rd was Lewys Ralph 8 laps, The Vet Clubman was won by Ady Stagg 9 laps 2nd was Andy Stagg 9 laps with Richard Lewis 3rd also 9 laps, The Novice class was won by Ryan Cox on 9 laps with Adam Keil 2nd on 9 laps and 3rd was Ryan Mitchell also on 9 laps.

It was another great days racing at CTR EVENTS WSC RD5 in the fantastic Aberbeeg venue thanks to all involved in making this happen looking forward now to WSC RD6 the final on the weekend of 21st 22nd February see you all then CTR.

Roger Holland Wins
CTR EVENTS Winter Series Championship 2014 Round 2 at the awesome Trecastle.
Photos Roadrunner

Roger Holland took a well deserved and impressive win in some very challenging and ever changing race conditions at the awesome Bronydd - Mawr Trecastle deep in Wales, Roger Holland dominated the race from lap 2 after a little battle with Gethin Francombe until Francombe crashed heavily on a ditch jump Holland managed then to start his assault on this 5 mile Enduro XC course and with the weather playing its part with the ground ever changing this CTR race track,

Team CTR sent over a week plotting and building a flowing yet slightly demanding course and with the change of not only the clocks the winter weather started to kick in to the Welsh hills overlooking the Brecon Beacons the team battled against the heavy winds and rain of the hurricane Gonzalo to successfully build a 5 miles Enduro XC race track which although challengeable it was still rideable for everyone believe we could have made it hard!.

At 11 o’clock and with all the willing CTR Enduro racers all sat on the line and reay to race CTR dropped the flag to unleash the riders on to the course 1st away was the experts with Danny Morris on his new ride grabbing the holes shot to lead the pack down the long start line dropping and turning in 300 yards they dropped some 100ft to the 1st corner leading them left to for 200 yards into a right hand corner before entering the 1st of the woods, Next released was the Vet Experts with Leighton Roberts grabbing the holeshot setting of on their race adventure, Next to be released the Clubman with Ryan Nightingale getting the holeshot, Next let loose the Vet Clubman with Owen Cooper getting the holeshot, Last to be released was the Novice class with Ryan Cox getting the holeshot.
As all the racers were now out finding their way around the course twisting and turning their way back to lap scoring 1st to appear was Gethin Francombe closely followed by Roger Holland, Tim Foreman and Co, Jack Twentyman was the 1st Vet Expert around with Sean O’Neill, Leighton Roberts and Ryan Leary all bunched up, The next class leader around was Clubman Ryan Nightingale with Sam Skyrme, Craig Thomas and Paul Simons hot on their tails, Ady Stagg lead the Vet Clubman around with a 10 second lead over his Bro Andy Stagg, The 1st Novice class rider around was Ryan Cox with Mike Smith and Dan Stone not too far behind.

As the race progressed Roger Holland seemed to be well in control of his lead with Francombe recovering but still circulating it was down to Tim Foreman who had moved up Charlie Frost, Lloyd Price, Sonny Parker and the others were all close Churchward, Williams, Perkins, Morris and Co Frost had a few nightmare laps dropping him on lap 3 and to 7th place, Poor Mike Pratt had a nasty crash and had to have full medical attentions closing of part of the track get well soon Mike, Jack Twentyman and Sean O’Neill were hard at it battling for the lead in the Vets Experts, Sam Skyrme seemed in charge of the Clubman until his chain came of leaving Craig Thomas, Brad Copeland and Richard Baxter to fight for top spot, The Vets Clubman was lead now by Andy Stagg with Ady Stagg now 2nd and Len Giles upto 3rd, Ryan Cox had control of the Novice class race with Dan Stone and Mike Smith chasing behind.
At the chequered flag it was Roger Holland with a very impressive win from Charlie Frost and Tim Foreman, Sean O’Neill won the Vet Experts from Jack Twentyman and Ryan Leary, Craig Thomas won the Clubman with Brad Copeland 2nd and Richard Baxter 3rd, The Vet Clubman was won by Andy Stagg his bro Ady was 2nd and Len Giles 3rd, Ryan Cox won the Novice class from Dan Stone and Mike Smith.
