Brad Williams wins CTR Summer Series Championship Final round
at Aberbeeg East South Wales.

The 2015 CTR Summer Series came to a dramatic finale with round 6 at Aberbeeg in the South Wales valleys on Sunday 23rd August. The Welsh word Aberbeeg loosely translates as "Where is my umbrella" and a yellow weather warning proved to be annoyingly accurate as the hills were lashed with torrential rain. Thankfully the course avoided the open moorland and skirted the farm where the hedgerows afforded some protection for the riders. CTR built a fantastic 5 mile cross country Enduro race track with fast flowing fields to blast around and plenty of technical bits to keep the riders on their toes. The battle for the series had become a duel between Kalem Hicks and Brad Williams with Kalem holding a 5 point lead.

At just after 11am and with all the keen and hardened CTR hare and hounds Enduro racers lined up on the start line and ready to go CTR dropped the start flag releasing the Experts with Brad Williams grabbing the holeshot from Roger Holland and Jay Thomas, As they sped off into the distance CTR dropped the flag for the Vet Experts with Grant Churchward getting the holeshot from Paul Biggs and Ryan Leary, Next to be released the Clubman class with Sam Skyrme getting the holeshot from Rhys Perkins and Andy Card, Next let loose was the Vet Clubman and Over 50's with over 50's racer Mark Saunders grabbing the holeshot from Vet Clubman Andy Taylor from Neil Price and Stefton Ingham, Last but not least to be unleashed the big group of Novice-Sportsman with Ryan Bevan grabbing the holeshot from Chris Bailey and Gareth Bailey, So with all the riders and their steeds set of and away into the distance and ready to take on the challenge of both the CTR race track and the weather all eyes would now be focused on the lap scoring field to see who would appear 1st.

At lap scoring 1st to appear was the young flying Brad Williams with a 22 second lead over Kalem Hicks with Tim Foreman, Roger Holland new to the Expert class Jack Heath and Danny Thomas with Vet Expert Grant Churchward hot on their tails and leading the Vet Experts around with just over a minute lead over Paul Biggs with Ryan Leary and Gary McCoy hot on his tail just a few seconds behind, Sam Skyrme led the Clubman class around from Scott Hoskins, George Saunders, Rhys Perkins and Co, The next class leader around the lap was Vet Clubman racer Andy Taylor with Andy Stagg on his tail Over 50's class racer Mark Saunders was the next class leader around the lap with Richard Holland snapping at his tail just 35 seconds behind, Jacko Thomas led the Novice class around with Chris Bailey and Joe Parfitt just a few seconds behind.

As the race progressed and with pit stops ETC Brad Williams was in a commanding lead and really showed his potential and maturity with what seamed to be a calm and controlled lead over the hard charging Kalem Hicks also in charge of his 2nd place 3rd place was hard fort out between Jack Heath and Tim Foreman, Grant Churchward was leading the Vet Experts with Gary McCoy now in 2nd and Paul Biggs and Ryan Leary fighting over 3rd, Early leader Sam Skyrme dropped out of the Clubman lead leaving Scott Hoskins the short lived lead as he dropped back to 3rd leaving Rhys Perkins the lead with George Saunders grabbing 2nd and Hoskins back to 3rd, Andy Taylor was leading the Vet Clubman with Chris Temby in 2nd and Neil Price in 3rd, The Over 50s was led by Mark Saunders with Richard Holland pushing him hard from behind and Harry Thomas circulating in 3rd, Chris Bailey was in control of the Novice class race with Joe Parfitt now in 2nd and Jacko Thomas in 3rd.

At the chequered flag the impressive Brad Williams had pulled a 2 minute 27 lead over Kalem Hicks with Jack heath now in 3rd all on 12 laps, Grant Churchward won the Vet Expert class with Gary McCoy taking 2nd from Paul Biggs just over 30 seconds behind all on 11 laps, Rhys Perkins won the Clubman class from George Saunders 2nd and Scott Hoskins 3rd all on 11 laps, The Over 50's was won by Mark Saunders 10 laps 2nd was Richard Holland 10 laps and Harry Thomas 3rd 9 laps, The Vet Clubman was won by Andy Taylor with Chris Temby 2nd and Neil Price 3rd all on 9 laps, The Novice class was won by Chris Bailey with Joe Parfitt 2nd and Jacko Thomas 3rd all on 10 laps.

It turned out to be a great eventful days racing with the weather clearing up with even some sunshine for the awards presentation with the CTR SSC champions and days winners all gratefully receiving their CTR prizes and awards thanks to all involved racers and helpers, Caterers, Marshals, Medical team, Carla, Emma Mark and Keithy, And a massive thank you to Howell the land owner Next events is CTR British WSC RD1 September Date TBC CTR EVENTS.
