Broxhead is a rarely used bit of land these days but very popular in the Enduro scene 20 years ago and albeit a bit on the small size but Normandy MCC really put the effort in to make a most enjoyable 3.6 mile loop of mainly forest and sand, a full but limited entry and a beautiful blue sky and plenty of sunshine.

Championship Class
What a fantastic race between two team mates in the guise of MRS Sherco riders Jon Hunt and Royal Engineer Tom Ellwood and for 3 hours and 18 laps they were no further than a bikes length apart and despite Tom going totally off line and losing total control but somehow performing one of the best saves ever in my opinion went on to beat Jon and take top podium, Ben Wibberley was a solid 3rd place albeit a lap down on the top 2, 4th Dan Alldred who rode very well despite not riding much this season, 5th Jason Bowen who seems to have upped his game a bit so far this season.

Expert Class
Royal Engineer Jake Purcell making a rare SEEC appearance and what a great spectacle he bought us by not only taking victory but also provided us with a great entertaining battle between himself and Matt Ward who came home second and is a very much an improved Enduro rider from last year, 3rd went to Jack Hooper despite riding with a nasty leg injury, 4th Brad Armstrong who without doubt has the talent and nous but needs the “want and love” of the sport which he seems to have back at the moment and results and body language mirroring that.

Vet A and Vet A Over 50 Class
No doubting Vet A winner Chris Stanger who was simply in a class of his own today and on new bike which to me looks like he has found his soul mate, runner up by a whisker from 3rd placed Mick Stradwick was Andy Sharp who showed some good skills today.
The O50’s was won in dominant form by Paul Armstrong who can do no wrong at the moment and very much the man with a target on his back, Steve Bird solid as ever in second place, third place and dare I say about time for Colin Cowley.

Clubman A Class
A very tight and competitive class with Darren Perry just showing his experience on the naggery tricky terrain to take win but had to work hard as Brad Warton was hard on his rear wheel the full 3 hours and did all he could but had to settle for runners up spot, 3rd and another top ride for Rob Higgs.

Vet B and Vet B Over 50 Class
Very much the man of the moment and rightly so for Jeff Cannons with another emphatic victory and only rider in class to complete 15 laps, runner up Martin Turner despite trying to outdo Jeff Cannons but his tactics back fired when he opted for the quicksand route and that ended his quest for top spot, 3rd Ian mace who did not put a foot wrong and delivered a solid result.
The O50’s was deservedly won by Chris Welch with a solid ride but did have to work hard for it as close behind pushing him all the way was Stephen Scott who came second, 3rd and a cracking result for Orlando Bayne-Powell as not ridden for a very long time.

Clubman B Class
Biggest class of the day by a long way and without doubt the star of the group was teenager Ben Harding with a whopping 15 laps to his credit to take victory, runner up Tristan Bushnell who’s motocross skills came into play today on the short loop, 3rd Zain Daniels.

Sportsman Class
Sean O’Mahony took top honours in a very close knit class with 13 laps completed, runner up on 12 laps was Daren Mason also on 12 laps was final podium finisher Trevor Evans.
