ACU
British Extreme Enduro Championship
Eddy's Xtreme Enduro
Round 2, Cowm Quarry, Whitworth, Lancs. Jonny Walker took his second major victory of the year with a win at
Cowm Quarry on Sunday February 7th in the second round of the ACU British
Extreme Enduro Championship.
Extreme events demand extreme venues and Cowm Quarry near Whitworth,
Lancs certainly was extreme but when the weather joins in with extreme
winds and sodden ground conditions it was always going to be extra tough.

Jamie
Lewis wins his 2nd Snowrun title
The Welsh weather did it's best to ensure the Welsh Trail Riders Asociation
didn't break the Trade Description Act with a fine dusting of snow settling on the
Beacons for their 41st annual Snowrun. Despite the vagaries of the weather the
Snowrun always attracts a full entry and 2016 was no exception. The event - sponsored by KTM dealership
W-Mounter
Motorcycles - is the opening round of the ETJames Welsh Enduro Championship. The 24 mile lap started in
the top quarry of the Crychan forest near Llandovery and looped around Glyn Saer before crossing
the Tirabad road at the Picnic site and running down the western side of Crychan
over Eddy's Folly, up the Rally Road, Bonky's Loop, the Tube and the Beeches to the Special Test around Trout Hill. The out check was close to the Old
Snowrun Quarry and it was manned by some Old Snowrun marshals. The in-check was
tighter than out-check. It included the steep descent down Parachute Hill to 5
Road and the steep climb to the Cortina. Crossing the Tirabad Road the course
entered the Road of Bones off Cefn Ludlow which has
been dedicated to the memory of Peter Brookes who opened up the track for 1999
World round. The Snowrun rarely attracts a big Championship entry and this year
the class consisted of Jamie Lewis giving his new Offroad Experience Enduro Team
Yamaha an airing. One look at the times gave Jamie a clue why he was Billy No
Mates off the line. They were tight and after 4 laps without a break he had dropped 2 minutes
but he secured his 2nd Snowrun win. Roger Holland was best of the Experts ahead of Brad
Williams and Chris Bryant. 4 laps proved to be a challenge as the course
deteriorated and 50% of the Expert class retired, William Jones won the Expert
Veterans class which was raced over 3 laps. Paul Davies was runner up and Julian
Rylance was 3rd. The best clubman was Josef Westgarth from Richmond. Jared
Stanfield was 2nd and Robbie Jamieson. David Wright from Oswestry won the
Veteran Clubman class. Leighton Roberts was runner up and Paul Westgarth was
3rd. Rhodri Gardner - riding in his first enduro - got off to a great
start by winning the Sportsman class with the 3rd fastest time overall. Results
