Rounds 7 and 8 of the BEC was definitely one of the best venues of the year. The Hafren Club did a great job of organising the event. Day 1 for me wasn't the best as a started slow in the first test and had to try to close back in through out the day. I found myself trying to push I little to hard and making stupid mistakes every where. I then made a even bigger mistake coming off a fireroad on the going into a ditch. Luckily I didn't hurt myself to bad and thanks to Jack Cad who helped get my bike out! I was very sore for the rest of the weekend after that one. I then put in a half decent mx test at the end of the day and to Dan Mundell's misfortune of dropping a minute I managed 2nd overall behind Alex Walton who rode really well all weekend. Day two I felt very sore in the morning and struggled again through out the day. Just making silly mistakes in the 3 enduro tests and loosing valuable seconds where I needed to make them. We went back and done one more MX test where I didn't do to bad but still need to improve a lot. I managed 3rd overall behind Dan and Alex. I would like to say a big thanks to Midwest Racing, DP brakes, Venhill, Rock oil, Matt at Decade-Europe, 6D Helmets, JT Racing, 100% Goggles, URM Racing, HGS Exhausts and Hardcore Racing.
Helmsley wasn't the best of weekends for me but considering the circumstances I was happy with my result. One of my best friends passed away 2 days before the race and it was playing on my mind a lot. I struggled focusing on the track and was mistakes everywhere but still managed a 2nd on day one. Heavy overnight rain made the track much harder for day two and the race was cut to 1 lap. I made a mistake on the second test costing me about 30 seconds then I crashed on the last corner and lost more time. I was a bit gutted getting 9th but I know what I can work on for the next rounds. I'd like to thank Midwest Racing, Decade-Europe, 100% goggles, JT Racing, 6D Helmets, DP Brakes, Venhill Engineering, Rock Oil and GP Custom Graphics.
ACU Edmondson Racing British Enduro Championship After a long off-season the start of the season had finally began at the British Enduro Championship in Elgin, Scotland. I walked the test a few times on Friday and was looking forward to hitting the dunes. Saturday morning was the first of the going I got to see and it was very rough and bumpy. I went into the test confident and I knew were I was going. I made a few mistakes but managed to set the fastest time in my class. My second test felt amazing until I crashed about 5 feet from the finish, I picked myself up and managed to get across the line without loosing to much time. My last test was a good test with some small mistakes but nothing major. Staying clean on time in the tight checks and having 3 decent test times gave me a 44 second lead ahead of 2nd at the end of day 1. The race had been shortened to 2 laps from the previous 3 on Saturday. Running of the excitement from Saturday I set the fastest clubman test time on Sunday morning. Then I went into the tight checks and managed to come out clean on time. The second and last test was abit of a disaster, I crashed and winded myself with the handlebars but got back up and finished the test. I still had a 2nd place only 10 seconds behind 1st. I look forward to going into the 3rd and 4th rounds in Hemsley as the BEC Clubman points leader. Hopefully I can now hold on to it. I'd like to think everyone at Midwest Husqvarna UK, Decade-Europe, 100% goggles, JT Racing Kit, 6D Helmets, DP Brakes, Venhill Engineering, Rock oil and GP Custom Graphics. photo Garry Barnes
Jordan gets some Tough Brakes The Tough One was my first big race of 2015. I was excited to race on Saturday after walking the very demanding course on Friday afternoon. At 12:00 the flag dropped and I was in 3rd running up the start hill. This gave me the perfect opportunity to take the lead in the first woods which meant I had a clear track. I pushed hard on the first 2 laps to get a 3 minute lead then I relaxed and tried to stay consistent. At the start of lap 4 I made a mistake which caused my rear brake hose to spilt and the bleed nipple to snap off. I rode the rest of that lap with no rear brake which was very hard because of the steep downhill. At the end of the lap I pulled in and had some help to change the rear brake. On that lap I lost 35 minutes. I rejoined the track and managed to get 1 more lap in before the chequered flag. In the end I came 19th and was 2 laps down from the leaders but I'm glad I finished considering my brake problems. I'd like to thank Midwest Husqvarna, Decade-Europe, Rock Oil, Venhill, JT racing, 6D helmets, 100% goggles, Matt, Chipmunk, Mum and Dad for making the weekend happen.
