Rounds 3/4 of the British Sprint Enduro Championship
26/27th April

Seeing the weather forecast at the start of last week got me really excited as I love riding in the wet! Day one started off not to good for me, I kept making stupid mistakes and couldn't stop crashing. The team changed my forks for some softer ones which instantly improved the handling of the bike and the lap times. Going into the last test I was 1.36 seconds behind the leader of my group. During the lap I had a small crash with another rider but still managed to get a 7 second gap over 2nd place. Feeling confident going into day two because of the result and even more rain! The track was slippy and slidey which made it great fun. I managed to win every test in my class and got 33rd overall which was a great achievement for me. I would like to say a huge thanks to Midwest Husqvarna for keeping the bikes clean all day and making improvements to the bike. Also thanks to Gary Barnes for the photo. Roll on BEC at Hemsley...

I'm really happy with how things went at the weekend. For a start the track was outstanding and great fun to ride. Friday night saw some heavy rain for a few hours which made it really slippy on the grass sections of the track. It was difficult going into the first timed lap not knowing were the ruts were going to be. Once the day got going I had some good tests and some bad. I was in 2nd place all day until my last lap were a rock got jammed in my chain which meant the bike came skidding to a stop. It was impossible to get out without removing the chain. Having a DNF on that lap moved me down to 3rd place on day one. I knew I had to do better on Sunday to secure 2nd overall. The track was even better backwards and more of the motocross track was used. On and off rain meant test times were up and down. Struggling with the downhill jumps on day one I'd thought I would try to man up and have a go at one. I managed to clear it but not with the best of style aha. I had better luck and kept the 2nd place I needed all day. Meaning I had 2nd overall. I'm really pleased with this result and I'd like to thank Midwest Husqvarna, all off the team sponsors and Warren Slevin for the photo.

Going into the weekend I was very excited about racing on the new bike. I struggled with staying on in the tests on Day One. Just riding tight and maybe trying to hard. I was disappointed with 18th so I knew I had to ride better on Day Two. Before the day started we changed I few things on the bike which made it handle a lot better in the woods. Going to the start I knew I had to relax in the tests to stop making silly mistakes. I rode a lot better and only had one crash ending up 11th.

I was pleased with my improvement over Day One but I know I have to improve again at the next round.

Thanks to Simon, Graham and Barrie from Midwest Husqvarna for the support over the weekend.
