French Enduro Championship Final in Ambert

Marc Bourgeois Vice-Champion of France

Ambert hosted the final round of the France Enduro Championship last weekend. Marc Bourgeois addressed the event with the ambition of keeping second place on the overall podium. After leading early in the race, the official Yamaha rider dropped to third on Saturday. The next day, Marc concluded fourth after a very close battle with its main rivals. Nevertheless it was sufficient to maintain his overall ranking and finish Vice Champion.

Back to the race ... How was the final?

Marc Bourgeois: "Things started well for me in the Auvergne. The stages are really my cup of tea. In the first round we were riding on the grass and I took control of the race.  I was actually first in the scratch then it widened and I felt the pressure! Christophe Nambotin went back and I found myself fighting with Jeremy Tarroux and Loïc Larrieu . A fall into a stream cost me dearly, still I could counter Loïc but not Jeremy. The next day I finished fourth, the differences were insignificant. The important thing was to have kept my place on the podium "...

What aspect of the championship of France in 2014 do you remember?

MB:.. "There really has been rhythm, we are clearly moving forward to a higher level in terms of intensity in the E1 class My three main opponents compete in the Enduro World Championships and it is a good thing, It has raised the level of French riders in general. Personally I have benefited greatly. Throughout the tests I gained speed and commitment  The French Championship has prepared me for the World Championship. "

Your next race?

MB: "The six days ... I have to stay in good physical condition, without overdoing it in anyway, Six days of racing is an experience from many points of view and my priority is arrive on site rested and eager to resume my work on the handlebars! I want to thank my Yamaha mechanic, the ineffable Didi and Vincent who helped me again this weekend. I must not forget Marc Germain! "
