Rhayader MC With clear skies over Cwmythig there was a bumper entry for Rhayader Motor Cycle club’s opening evening event of the Summer, in the shape of a 90 minute Hare and Hounds. Leading off the start were the championship class with British Championship regulars Daryl Bolter and Jamie Lewis setting the pace, Bolter in the lead from the start with Lewis close behind for the first half hour before losing ground however a late charge in the closing minutes saw Jamie close to within 22 seconds at the flag both completing 14 laps.
Competition was just as hot in the Expert class with Tom Ellwood
finishing just 17 seconds ahead of Shaun Buchan with Alex Walton third all
on 14 laps while Adam James just missed by 11 seconds get start his 14th lap
to finish fourth. In the clubman class Tom James completed 13 laps with
Ieuan Morgan just 8 seconds behind. Thomas Card completed the top 3, just
failing to start the 13th lap by 1 second.
As usual a large Over 40s class saw some closed tussles with victory going to Anthony Griffith followed by Chris Walton while Peter Lewis got the better of Andrew Prosser in the Over 50s class, in a huge Sportsman class saw the first six complete 12 laps with Lyndon Jones being the best of the bunch some 30 seconds clear of Ben Prosser. Mixing it with the solos were the sidecar lads with David Williams and Simon Brown out in front to take the championship class ahead of Gareth Rowlands and Will Green while Martin Rowan partnered by Anthony Mills won the Expert class and brothers Daniel and Matt Baynham lead home the clubman class. The club now looks forward to their next event which is Evening EXTREME Hare ‘n hounds which again will take place at Cwmythig on Wednesday 15th June. Details
