Wooton wins Eddy's Xtreme
The forecast rain failed to reach Greenhall Farm in North Wales for the final
round of the 2018 ACU British Xtreme Enduro Championship - organised by Fast
Eddy Racing - but the two and half hour ride proved to be a sufficient
challenge. Joe Wootton was the winner. Jonny Walker in 2nd clinched the
Championship and Hamish MacDonald on the Fast Eddy Sherco was 3rd.
James Dent was the 4th rider to clock up 11 laps. Full

Championship Rd 3 The evening before, the Frenchman Thomas Dubost had already laid the
foundation for his day's victory, with a narrow victory in the prologue: In the
end, the KTM-rider was eight seconds ahead of Ronny Kytönen from Finland, who
is also a junior, but in the 125cc class! Report
Jed Etchells finished 14th overall and Nieve Holmes was 5th in the Womens Class.

Tennessee Knockout title. Cody Webb and Josh Toth from the FMF KTM Factory

torrential rain storms that powered their way through this idyllic Shropshire

and West Round 4

The heat and dust of a record breaking Summer was washed
away by heavy showers that left Wales and West MCs
Penpergym track in perfect condition and an over
subscribed field of 135 riders reaped the benefit. Clerk
of the Course Glenn Thomas flagged away the first rank
of Experts at 11.00am for the start of the 3 hour race.
Charlie Frost (Eurotek KTM) took the holeshot with Rhys
Davies on his shoulder. At the end of the first lap
Frosty led while Charlie Evans had moved up into 2nd
place. For 2 laps the riders were locked in a close
battle which proved to be too close for Charlie Evans
whose rad filled with mud and he retired with an
overheated engine.
Derek Bawn moved up into second place but for once the
Bawn Supremacy was thwarted by a mechanical problem.
Frosty's path to the winning line was all clear as the
course dried out. Despite a last lap pit stop Kalem Hicks
was runner up and Rhys
Davies was 3rd. Glyn McGuire worked his way up from the
Clubman ranks to finish 4th. Ashley Maller was 5th and
Jack Liddiard was 6th, Wunderkind Alfie Webb overcame a
stomach bug to finish 7th in a strong field. At the
other end of the age spectrum Paul Biggs in 8th was the
best Supervet closely followed by Leighton Roberts and

Tim Tighe 1957-2018
Tim Tighe - a stalwart of British Enduro - passed away on Saturday night
surrounded by his family and friends. In stature and personality Tim was a
larger than life character who never had enough time because he gave so much to
others. Over 2 decades he reported on the offroad world with his insightful lens
and gentle humour. He will be missed.

This is certainly desirable with the Hard Enduro, but certainly not when it
