Wales
& West Round 2
The 2nd round of the Wales & West Summer Series was a long way from the
green pastures of Round 1 at Mitchell Troy. The 4 mile lap of Ewyas Harold near
Pontrilas was a tightly woven technical course in a steeply sloping wooded
valley. The weather was warm and dry. The 3 hour race started at 11.00pm. Derek Bawn snatched the holeshot from Rhys Davies before Gibson Tyres
sponsored Matthew Jones took the lead. By midway Derek Bawn was the leader and
he went on to take the win ahead of Matt Jones - both clocking up 16 laps. Rhys
Davies held on to 3rd despite snapping a clutch lever. Daniel Price was 4th and
Clinton Thomas was 5th. Paul Biggs repaired a puncture mid race but he still
took the Best Supervet in 6th. - Results

Wootton
wins at Cwmythig Hill
Rhayader MC hosted one of their superb Wednesday night Motoduros at
Cwmythig Hill on the 13th June. Fresh from a WEC podium finish in
Portugal, Freestyle Husqvarna rider Joe Wootton lined up alongside
Yamaha mounted Alex Walton and Lee Sealey in the front row. After 2
weeks without rain the course was very dry despite a drenching with the
bowser. The sky was heavy with the approach of Storm Hector as the
riders were flagged away at 6.45pm for the first of 2x45 minute motos.
Joe Wootton led from start to finish,, Alex Waltn was runner up and Lee Sealey
was 3rd. Brett Hillman and Adam James matched the Pros with 7 laps to top the
Expert class. For the second moto Joe swapped to another set up which initially
looked like a mistake as Alex Walton took the early lead but the dusty berms and
the hills absorbed the power of the skittish 125 as the Wootton Husky 4t closed
and took the lead. a second win and the overall. Details -
